I would like to start out by saying I have always had a special place in my heart for the pointing dog.  That is what I started out with, reading every book, article, listening to my step-dad and learning to train by trial and error.  With the strong instinct behavior of the  pointers the basics were easy and everything else entailed much repetition and patience.  Truth be known at one time I said I would never own a flushing dog, labs in particular.  Until I worked in Carolina I had never truly seen one worth hunting.  Living in Carolina, I was invited to go duck hunting for the first time by what turned out to be one of the best dog trainers in the country (if not the best) who also turned out to be a pretty good duck hunter himself!  Well my pointer would not fetch ducks even if I could get him in the water, so I started down the road I thought I would never go.

I bought my first lab ("Willie" - Pictured Above) just to pick up ducks., but before I knew it I was apprenticing for Charles Journey (Trainer/Duck Hunter extraordinaire)  in exchange for more knowledge and experience to run my own dog better.  I titled "Willie" in UKC (HRCH) and "Star" and helped with hundreds of others.  Charles felt my brain was full (kicked me out) and said it was time I went out and blazed my own trail.

So here we are years later experienced in training many breeds ready to pass on what I have learned over to you and your dog.
